Sites like teefury, mysoti and others allow artist to retain their rights to the work, in effect allowing more then one company use of the design and allowing the artist to double sell. This last part is important as it makes the art less exclusive then if it were to be sold at just one shop.

I don't like this idea because most designs are quite versatile, a change of color, placement or product.

It is possible for both companies to sell deviations of the design that are quite different. Also on the plus side is the competition tee fury manages to sell tees at $9 so remains competitive, and still produce an exclusive product by offering the design for 24hrs only.

Selling rights to a company means that if I wanted to use the design, for say skate decks, shoes, socks, artist prints, and what have you I can not do this because it would be a violation of the terms.

This is a touchy subject for a lot of people so I just wanted to give an artist view.
This is just one guys opinion, I would like to know what you think.
